ABOUT KENDRA HURTEAU
As a child, Kendra excelled at art. It was lost to her when career and family took over. However, once her children were grown, they inspired her to follow her creative side. So, Kendra returned to college decades later to study art and writing. There she discovered her love of painting.

Kendra finds art expressive and impacting. She intends for her art to touch people and fascinate them. In addition, she has found that the creative process is cathartic. Art can be healing on many levels, both emotionally and physically. She wants to touch those who are hurting through the images she shares.
ARTIST STATEMENT
I am obsessed with expressive art. The designs that I create are inspired by the human experience. It is my intent to connect our visceral feelings to something visual whether through my abstracts or portraits. My art becomes a visual journal in which the whole world can see.

My desire is to engage the viewer. I want people to relate to what they see—to experience a reaction. It is not up to me to decide what that reaction should be or determine what it means to them. It is their own personal experience with the image—their own visual journal—in the privacy of their mind.

Kendra is the author or Lenormand Step by Step and five Lenormand card decks. The thirty-six card deck is a divination tool, much like Tarot. With her daughter, Katrina Hill, she created Under the Roses Lenormand, Lenormand Silhouettes, Kendra's Vintage Petit Lenormand, Halloween Lenormand, and Yuletide Lenormand.
